Dear Michelle,

We at the Mechanicville District Public Library would like to thank you for being such a great supporter of the services that we offer here.

Upon receiving your message I was distraught, to think that in some way people thought we were selling t-shirts.
The Library has never even thought of such a thing. These t-shirts were sold by a group right after the Tornado of '98. The shirts were donated to us to put in our historical collection.

We hope this resolves any undue negative thoughts of the Library that you may have.

We look forward to your continued support.

Thank you for your comment and please continue to let us know how we are doing to serve you.

I am a lifelong resident of Mechanicville and a strong supporter of the Mechanicville Public Library...but I have to say that I find it a bit distasteful that the library is selling tee shirts to “reminisce” about a tragic natural disaster that took the homes, possessions, and treasured keepsakes of many of my family and friends. To have a shirt that says “I survived the tornado of ‘98” reminds me of a tourist shirt that someone would buy on vacation or after riding a rollercoaster at the Great Escape. It just doesn’t seem very respectful to me, or sensitive to those who lost everything in the storm.

Hello to all of the Mechanicville Losers. I wanted to thank everybody for coming on Wednesday night. It was a great turnout, more than we could of ever have expected. I would also like to take the time now to remind everybody that we (Library) have several workout videos and dvd's and nutrition books, cookbooks, and lifestyle changing books available for you. A reminder to all team, this is a friendly competition. lol We have already sent the Mechanicville Police Dept. donuts, so do not be surprised if you receive a gift after winning a week weigh-in. lol Also anybody who does not have a library card, please stop by and apply for one, we at the Library have so much to offer. We wish everybody success in this program and hope to build lasting relationships with the community. So lets all get ready and start being a bunch of losers.
