Fine Amnesty continues through Dec. 15th. The library will accept a food item or toy for each Mechanicville Library fine. Collection fee and replacement fees, fines from other libraries, can not be waived.
On November 16th, Monday at 6:30 Library Advisory Meeting; Community members will be accessing the long range needs of the Library. Also, the Hudson River Photography Club will be meeting. If you have an interest in digital photography, they are happy to include you.
On Tuesday, November 17th at 2pm Scotia-Glenville Museum will be bringing materials to make Giving Baskets. Construct a chenille stem basket that holds well-wishes and kindness, meant to be given away to someone in need of compassion.
Thursday, November 19th, 4-6pm will be another enterTEENment afternoon with gaming and snacks for teens. We have Guitar Hero, PS2, and Dance, Dance Revolution plus LOTS of Snacks!!!

On Wednesday, November 18th @ 7pm the book club meets. This month’s selection is Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier. Rebecca is a novel of mystery and passion, a dark psychological tale of secrets and betrayal, dead loves and an estate called Manderley that is as much a presence as the humans who inhabit it.
Monday, November 23rd the Anime club will meet. Come share your tips for drawing, developing charaters. Students grades 9-12.
CPR Class November 28th 9-11:30am. there is a $20.00 fee. The instructor will be Sonia Altamura.
Monday, November 30th at 6pm there will be an Informational Energy Savings Program with Diane Whitten from Cornell Cooperative Extension. Save Energy, Save Dollars with lots of low cost or no cost tips. Door prizes and refreshments. To register call 885-8995.
Every Thursday @ 12pm: Storytime and Craft. Joan Rocco starts off with a welcoming song then has a themed story and craft.
Make your own ornament anytime between December 1st and 12th. We will have materials available whenever is convenient for you.
Annual Gingerbread House construction; December 12th at 1pm. You bring a package of graham crackers and a can of white frosting and we will supply the rest!
Wednesday, December 16th Tina Mone presents; Starting a Small Business at 6:30pm.
Book Club Discussion 7-8pm; The Rope Walk by Carrie Brown. Kenneth Fitzgerald, the artist who sponsored the library’s transformation from dreary to spectacular, returns to his childhood home dying of AIDS, he asks 10-year-old Alice MacCauley and her neighbors’ manic visiting mixed-race grandson, Thelonious Swann— “a tawny little lion cub”—to come by and read to him in the afternoons. Together they try to make sense of the world, particularly of how adults think and why people hate the way they do. One of the lessons Alice learns is that the most heartfelt intentions can produce the most tragic results.
