Aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses can learn how to build a WordPress Website, access resources through their library, and meet other business-people during the Mechanicville Library’s Libraries Mean Business workshop.
“Thriving businesses are essential to our community’s long term sustainability,” said Michelle Duell, Director of Mechanicville Library. ” We want to ensure that we’re doing everything we can to help our local businesses and entrepreneurs succeed.”
This workshop will be led by Sarah McFadden of the Cornell Cooperative Extension and walk participants through the first steps of setting up a WordPress-powered website and provide some essential tips for designing, updating, and protecting online content. Learn about the full range of traditional resources through our library, and network with colleagues during this hands-on workshop.
Participants will have a functional WordPress site to further develop on their own, a deeper understanding of the free resources available to them, and a network of professionals in the area at the end of this workshop!
No Experience is neccessary, but you’ll need an email account before the workshop. Ask for help at the circulation desk if you need assistance.
Support for this program comes from the Southern Adirondack Library System and funds from the New York State Library’s Adult Literacy Library Services Program.
