November 2020

The book stacks and computer stations are open throughout the day with no appointment necessary. Returns continue to only be accepted in the outdoor bookdrop. Due to Quarantine Procedures, items returned will not be removed from your account for about 5 days. No overdue fees will be assigned during that time. We have opened four single-use study spaces in our reading room that are available by reservation only to Mechanicville District residents.

Appointments must be made by phone: 518-664-4646

Please help us welcome Miss Kate to our wonderful community each Tuesday! Miss Kate will offer an in-person Story Time at 11:30 for those who wish to attend. We just ask that you REGISTER – November’s themes include Healthy Food, Hibernation and Thanksgiving!

In lieu of each Mechanicville Library overdue fine on your card, we will accept a non-perishable food donation. Please note that fines from other libraries, replacement costs, and collection agency fees cannot be waived. Donations must be unopened and unexpired. All are welcome to donate! We thank you all for your generosity!

Along with MACSC, we have an opportunity to make this Christmas season special for our seniors. This year has been especially challenging for our senior population and this is a great way to bring joy to them and remind them that they are cared for. If you wish to participate, stop into the Library and pick out one or more ornaments off the tree! Wrapped gifts must be returned to the library with tag attached by December 7th to ensure Christmas delivery!

Be A Chamber Angel! It’s easy as 1, 2, 3!

1.      Take a personalized ornament from the tree.
2.      Purchase the requested gift.
3.      Return the unwrapped gift to the Library by 12/2.
Gifts should be returned to the Library unwrapped and with the ornament attached.
Thanks to your generosity, Chamber Angels will provide for local Mechanicville families in financial distress for a 31st consecutive year. This program will provide holiday cheer to families who are enduring financial hardships that make the extra expense of the holidays a cause for stress and, unhappiness in what should be a season of joy.
